A combination of things has occurred this week to prevent me from writing my regular weekly newsletter. Instead, I’ll share with you a recommendation and some photos.

I’ve already recommended several Substack newsletters on my Natural Wonders homepage - those are all really great! But I also love to read Range Widely, which generally just pushes my thinking - I always feel smarter after reading these. Lately he’s had some really good posts about developing your number sense when reading stats, and how to avoid bad science.

The snails love our house…
This photo by my friend Joanna shows a particularly resilient tree. It’s probably 30-50 years old…
The tadpoles have hatched!
A rare Ladyslipper flower
The equally elusive alligator tree

I’ll be back next week with the regular newsletter.

Until then, get outside and enjoy this beautiful planet.

Thanks for reading Natural Wonders! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.
